We've Arrived! - July 6

After our mad dash from security to our plane this morning to board the first leg of our flight, the second leg was much less eventful. We arrived in Dallas where we had time to grab a snack, visit with each other, and meet our new friends from Texas. We boarded our flight to Calgary and were on our way!

When we arrived we uneventfully moved through customs and picked our bags. We were greeted by our new and awesome delgation manager, Ms. Anthea Song. We are looking forward to learning all about Canada from her! Anthea brought us food, and we were all hungry! We had a fantastic picnic in the hallway of the airport with pizza and juice. Yum!

We even got a mini-lesson about SUSTAINABILITY when we emptied our pizza cartons so they could be recycled. We will be learning more about sustainability later in the program during our service project.
After we ate, we boarded our coach for the Calgary Tower.

We took the elevator all the way to the top. It is the second tallest building in Canada so the view from the top was amazing!

The Calgary Tower has a glass floor, so we were able to stand on it and look at the traffic below us. A little frightening!

After our excursion at the Calgary Tower we headed to a fun little Vietnamese restaurant for dinner. The food was great, and they were very prepared for our group and for our diners with special needs. We were all very impressed.

Once we finished dinner, we headed to our dormitories ont he University of Calgary campus. After a group meeting with Anthea, we headed off to bed and are now all snug in bed. We are headed to the Tipi camp tomorrow!
Good night, everyone!
